This directory is exclusively for operators who hold a valid state-issued registration. Both traditional and digital operators are welcome.

FAQ — Operator Registration

How long does it take for my listing to go live?

Your listing goes live the moment you complete Step 4 — no admin approval required. The Verified badge takes a few business days if you upload your chit certificate during registration.

Is listing really free? What is the catch?

Basic listings and certificate verification are permanently free. We earn revenue from optional paid features (priority placement, enhanced profiles) and our SaaS platform for large operators. Your listing has no expiry.

What is a CIN and where do I find it?

CIN stands for Corporate Identification Number — a unique 21-character code assigned by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to every registered company. It appears on your Certificate of Incorporation and on the MCA21 portal.

Will my details be shared publicly before I submit?

No. Your information is kept private during all four steps. Your listing appears in the directory only after you complete and submit Step 4. You will receive a confirmation email with your portal login details.

Can I update my listing after it goes live?

Yes. Log in to your Operator Portal at /manage-my-listing/ to update your logo, contact details, chit values, address, and more at any time. You can also upload your chit certificate there to apply for the Verified badge.

What if my COI upload is rejected by the system?

You will see an error message explaining the reason. Common issues include unreadable scans, mismatched company names, or unsupported file formats. Re-upload a clear PDF or high-resolution image. Contact support@chit.fund if you need assistance.
